Tuned or Huntr?
Huntr and Tuned both keep one base resume and make a tailored version of it for each job posting. Huntr is a whole job-search workspace — tracker, autofill, cover letters — with unlimited AI tailoring at $40 a month. Tuned does one thing: it builds the tailored resume only from what your base resume says, shows every change, and costs $19 a month. Here is what each one does, and where Huntr is the better choice.
Tuned wrote this page. What it says about Huntr comes from Huntr’s own pages, listed under Sources. We have not run Huntr’s tailoring ourselves; when we do, the results will be added here.

What is the same
A base and its versions. Neither product asks you to keep five files in a folder. Huntr calls them base resumes and job-tailored resumes; Tuned calls them the base and its variants.
You stay the editor. In both, the AI proposes and you decide. Huntr shows rewrites beside the original with a reason under each one; Tuned highlights the changed words and lets you undo any change.
A score for the match. Both score the resume against the posting. The two numbers are counted in different ways and can’t be compared with each other.
What Tuned does differently
New words need a source. Huntr’s product page shows sample rewrites. In the first one, “Built backend services for the main product.” becomes “Designed distributed payment-processing services handling 50M+ daily transactions across 12 microservices.” The second line is stronger, and it carries two figures the first one doesn’t have. The page doesn’t say where they come from — they may well be elsewhere in that sample resume, and Huntr’s help center tells users to “include your actual accomplishments”.
In Tuned this is not left to the reader. Every edit is checked against your base resume before it is saved, and an edit that brings in a number, a technology or a claim with no source there is dropped. Numbers and dates stay as they were.
A gap becomes a question. When the posting asks for something your resume doesn’t mention, Tuned doesn’t write it in — it asks whether you have done it. Say yes, and the answer is saved to your base resume for the next posting.
The page count is part of the job. Pick one, two or three pages. Tuned measures the finished PDF and turns the least relevant lines off until it fits; what is turned off stays in your base.
The price of one resume. Tuned Pro is $19 a month for up to 70 tailoring runs, about $0.27 each. Huntr Pro is $40 a month with no cap on tailoring — and with everything else Huntr does.
Where Huntr is the better choice
If you want one place for the whole job search, use Huntr. Tuned prepares the resume and the cover letter for a posting, and nothing else.
- Tracking applications. A job tracker, contacts, interviews and search metrics. Tuned has none of that: you send the application yourself, wherever you found the job.
- Filling in forms. Huntr’s Chrome extension saves postings and autofills applications.
- No cap on the paid plan. Tuned Pro has a monthly allowance; Huntr Pro doesn’t.
- Writing from scratch. Summary, bullet point and skills generators for a resume you are still putting together. Tuned starts from the resume you already have.
Questions
Is Tuned a free alternative to Huntr?
Both have a free plan that asks for no card. Tuned’s gives 3 base resumes and up to 4 tailoring runs every month, with PDF and DOCX export. Huntr’s gives 2 job-tailored resumes and a small number of AI credits; unlimited AI tailoring is part of Huntr Pro at $40 a month. On Tuned’s free plan the first tailoring run is written by the larger model, as on Pro, and later ones by a lighter model.
Which of the two makes up less?
We have not run Huntr’s tailoring, so we can’t say what it does on a real resume. What we can say is how Tuned works: an edit with no source in your base resume isn’t saved, and every edit that is saved shows the line it came from.
Does Tuned have a job tracker?
No. Tuned prepares the resume and the cover letter for a posting; you send the application yourself and track it wherever you like. If tracking is what you need, Huntr does it.
Can I move my resume from Huntr to Tuned?
Yes. Export it from Huntr as a PDF or DOCX and upload the file to Tuned: it becomes your base resume.
